Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how MetDaan Media (“MetDaan”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores and shares information when you use MetDaan YouTube Publisher (the “App”), available at https://youtube.metdaan.media. The App is an internal tool used by MetDaan staff and contractors to manage YouTube channels owned by MetDaan.
Use of YouTube API Services
The App uses YouTube API Services. By using the App you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Information we access through Google and YouTube
When you connect a YouTube channel, you sign in with Google and approve the permissions shown on Google’s consent screen. Depending on the permissions you grant, the App accesses the following data through the YouTube Data API and YouTube Analytics API:
- Basic Google account information: your name, email address and profile picture, used to identify which team member connected a channel.
- Channel information: channel ID, title, thumbnail and the list of videos and playlists on the connected channel.
- Video details that you create or edit in the app: titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, visibility, publish time and playlist membership.
- Comments on the connected channel's videos, so that you can read and reply to them.
- Aggregated analytics for the connected channel: views, watch time, likes, subscribers and similar metrics.
- An OAuth access token and refresh token issued by Google, which allow the app to perform the actions above on your behalf.
The App does not access your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, calendar or any Google data outside the YouTube scopes listed on the consent screen.
Information you provide directly
- Video files, thumbnails and details that you upload through the app for publication on a connected channel.
- Your work email address and the sign-in identity you use to log in to the app itself.
How we use this information
- To upload, schedule, edit and publish videos on the connected channel at your request.
- To display the channel's videos, comments and analytics inside the app.
- To reply to comments on the channel's videos when you choose to do so.
- To keep a log of which team member performed which action, for security and accountability.
We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to build profiles of individual people. We do not use data obtained through the YouTube API to train machine-learning or AI models. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How we store and protect it
- OAuth tokens are stored encrypted at rest on servers controlled by MetDaan and are transmitted only over HTTPS.
- Video files and thumbnails are kept on our servers only until the upload to YouTube has completed and are deleted within 30 days.
- Channel data, comments and analytics retrieved from the API are cached for at most 30 days to render the dashboard, then refreshed or deleted, in line with the YouTube API Services Developer Policies.
- Access to the app and its servers is limited to authorised MetDaan personnel.
Sharing
We share data only with the following parties, and only to the extent needed to run the App:
- Google / YouTube, to perform the actions you request through the API.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers, who process data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Authorities, when required by applicable law.
We do not share Google user data with any other third party. The App displays no advertising and no third-party content.
Data retention and deletion
- When you disconnect a channel inside the app, the stored OAuth tokens for that channel are revoked and deleted immediately, and cached channel data is deleted within 7 days.
- When you revoke access from your Google Account instead, we delete the related data within 30 days.
- When your app account is closed, all personal data associated with it is deleted within 7 days, except for records we must keep by law.
- You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing info@metdaan.com. We act on such requests within 7 days.
Deleting data in the App does not delete anything on YouTube itself. Videos, comments and channel settings on YouTube are managed through YouTube.
Revoking access
In addition to disconnecting a channel inside the App, you can revoke the App’s access to your Google account at any time via the Google security settings page. Once revoked, the App can no longer access your YouTube data.
Cookies
The App uses only strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Children
The App is intended for adults working for MetDaan and is not directed at children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If we start using data in a way this policy does not cover, we will ask you to accept the updated policy before continuing.
